Biofine North America (Biofine) owns a patented technology that enables the conversion of low-quality forestry residues into valuable, third-party verified carbon-negative biofuels, chemicals, and biochar with total addressable markets > $1 Trillion annually.
Through the development of industrial-scale biorefinery projects Biofine is uniquely positioned to reinvigorate regional rural economies and ensure that northern forestland remains healthy in the future. The first phase of industrial development is set to begin in Lincoln, Maine (BMP-1). This project will convert ~100,000 green tons of biomass into third-party verified carbon-negative biofuels, renewable chemicals, and biochar.
With Biofine products in high-demand the only commercialization obstacle remaining is industrial scale production capacity. In fact, Biofine has already sold the full output of biofuel from BMP-1 via a long-term Take or Pay contract to Sprague Operating Resources, the largest fuel wholesaler in the Northeast USA. In addition, Biofine has agreements with Harcros Chemicals and Puro.earth to market all chemical and carbon-credit output from BMP-1.
With massive feedstock availability, huge-market demand, and an ability to produce US made, carbon-negative products development of multiple follow-on biorefineries throughout the Northeast and beyond is assured.
BMP-1 creates massive economic and environmental benefit throughout the entire value-chain. From revitalizing rural communities, to protecting natural forest health, and eliminating millions of lbs. of carbon emissions annually, Biofine stands to establish a robust industrial-scale circular-economy.
Revitalization of rural communities through economic development. Total BMP-1 jobs created is estimated to exceed 200
Creating a market for forestry residuals with no current demand reduces wildfire risk by incentivizing proper forest maintenance.
BMP-1 reduces lifecycle CO2e by 219 million lbs (GREET 2.0).
